Semi circle handwoven tapestry is finished and you can see it two ways
This small tapestry is finished and I already decided which way to hang it but still need to get a right dowel. Swipe left to see it the other way round.
I loved your interpretations of this piece you shared in my stories. When the half-circle is up you saw mostly sunsets over the sea or a temple, but also ancient Egyptian palm motives, Greek houses with round roofs or even Darth Vader.
When upside down you saw a portal/arch/window/door, aqueducts, tunnels, emblems, pharaohs and nuns!
And the truth is the design happened by accident, I wove it on holidays and forgot to pack enough wool with me so had to finish with this natural linen warp thread as weft. There is no “right” thing to see in it, all the interpretations are exactly what it is. And if you don’t see anything at all, it’s also just right! I love how this design is the result of an accident really and it simply appeared on my loom. Do you usually weave with a plan or just let the threads guide you?
