Plant dyed canvas project bags - We are sharing our dye recipes under this post

First photo for Instagram taken in the new year to announce that I’ll be listing these project bags this week! They are not up on my website yet so stay tuned. They make a beautiful sunrise gradient when stack on top of each other so it will be hard to see them go.

This is the new design, with flax tape handles, lined with raw linen and with two extra side pockets. These bags are even more lovely in person!

Colors from top to bottom:
Alder cones + Soy milk
Madder (low pH) + Soy milk
Avocado + Soy milk
Avocado + Iron
Madder + Aluminum acetate

Sometimes I’m wondering if that’s wise to share all the ingredients and recipes here, especially seeing so many people being just slightly too inspired with other people’s work. But then I just write all the info I’d love to see under inspiring posts of other dyers and don’t worry too much. This craft was being almost forgotten for a long time and now it’s gaining more and more popularity each year. The only way it grows is if we learn from each other, and I’m happy to contribute.

Another reason for that is I want my customers to know exactly what they’re buying. I’m proud to be 100% transparent with my materials and ingredients, and I’m always happy to answer all your questions!
