New ethical and sustainably made drawstring project bags for knitters

These two are listed in my online shop - because I have my own online shop now. Etsy stays open, but I’m happy I have my own space that I control. I got a lot of questions about how I built it - I had a Squarespace personal plan before and just upgraded to e-commerce. It was easy to build by myself, and I don’t know if I’ll stick with it forever, but it’s good for now!

I know there was a poll about these handles already but I’m still not sure which design I prefer. I’m actually leaning more into “inside” version. I usually make design decisions quickly, but in this case I’m struggling!

The bags were dyed with madder root & alum acetate (left) and acorns & iron (right). Lined with raw linen, which made us change the design slightly☝️ otherwise the drawstring tunnel was getting too bulky. Stamped with my new favorite imprint “lavender”. Stamping process is quite long for those but also meditative. The handles and the string are made of linen too, which makes the bags 100% vegan.

Today is my day for making Christmas gifts and I’m planning to not buy anything but to gift what I can make with my hands. I’ll show you the results later, if they’re any good. I realized it’s not easy to come up with handmade gift ideas for men (and boys), though. Do you have anything in mind? I’m curious.
