My very first floor loomed piece, over 2m long and 6 weeks in the making
A throwback to my very first floor loomed piece, this photo gives me all the feels. Over 2m long, on a vintage warp, because this old loom came to me as it was - already dressed many years ago by the previous owner. I guess it was dressed for a broken twill but not sure anymore, back then I didn’t know what broken twill meant. So I just pressed the pedals in a random order and shot the weft as I felt. 6 weeks in the making and nothing beats the feeling of cutting off your first piece. Started in very late 2015 and finished in early 2016.
And here I am in 2019, looking through old photos and preparing a tiny portfolio.
I’m planning to maybe move my beloved studio to a bigger space and need to introduce my craft to the owners... wish me luck!
I’m curious, does anyone still remember this one?
