How to (not) make a dye samples notebook

Plant colors top to bottom:
Avocado
Avocado
Avocado
Avocado again
Madder root
Woad
Logwood
Walnut and indigo
Logwood
Madder root
Onion skins
(These two I honestly don’t remember)
Goldenrod
Goldenrod again.
.
Do you keep a notebook with samples? I never recorded any for the past 3 years but I don’t regret it. I love going with the flow not by the recipe. I have a big box of unlabeled samples that I like playing with.
.
Plant produce different colors depending on the season, water quality, climate, weather, etc. I rely on my instincts and knowledge in dyeing and I love how often I’m surprised anyway. Plants colors are the best and there’s no book that could explain them all.
